Position Summary :
Reporting to the Director, Finance ON and under the general direction of the General Manager of Casino Woodbine, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the accounting and finance functions for Casino Woodbine, including the financial close process, financial reporting, budgeting and analysis, ensuring compliance with policy and procedures, and other daily, monthly, and quarterly ad-hoc finance requirements as necessary.
Key Accountabilities :
- Coordinates annual budget and forecast process. Manages and accounts for casino expenditures within the scope of established budget / forecast and company policies;
- Produces and distributes various detailed and consolidated site financial statements and financial reports to senior management, external partners, and business unit managers;
- Manages the month end process at the site level, including review of month end journal entries;
- Manages the performance and development of direct reports;
- Develops and implements policies, procedures, systems of internal controls and periodic financial reporting formats at the site level that align with corporate direction;
- Manages corporate finance function of the site including but not limited to cheque requisitions, account reconciliations etc.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with approved vendor list with respect to accounts payable transactions;
- Liaises and communicates effectively with senior management and all appropriate business units along with corporate office and external partners and financial service providers;
- Manage other initiatives as required.
Education and Qualification Requirements :
- CPA, CGA, CMA or CA designation, or suitable combination of education and experience;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounting Manager in a high volume large or medium sized organization;
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, and MS Excel;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Proven communication skills : verbal, written and interpersonal;
- Thrives on being a creative problem solver;
- Ability to be self-directed and take initiative while working independently and remaining focused on an assignment through to delivery;
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
Work Environment Considerations :
- Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables; exposure to some conflict,
- This role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to the business needs of a 24 hour operation; will have non-traditional work hours including some evening and weekend work.
Regular office environment, may have irregular work hours; frequent walking throughout office as well as sedentary work.

Licensing and Certification Requirements :
Permanent employment is dependent upon the authorization and continued approval of Provincial regulatory bodies. New team members will complete an application and will begin work after regulatory approval is granted.
Existing team members will reapply as necessary, and continuing work will be dependent upon successful renewal. For positions that require additional certification, the appropriate level of certification must be maintained.
