Job Title : Senior Application Developer
Location : Edmonton, AB
Duration : 12-month Contract
Work Type : Remote, but occasionally onsite for meeting
Project Overview :
We're seeking a skilled Senior Application Developer to join our growing team within the Technology and Innovation (TI) department.
You'll support the Financial Sector Regulation and Policy (FSRP) division of the Treasury Board and Finance, specifically working on the Pension Benefits Information System (PBIS) with potential involvement in other projects.
Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET C# and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Build user-friendly interfaces for both web and desktop applications.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements.
- Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Participate in code reviews and recommend improvements.
- Contribute to agile development processes and lifecycle planning.
- Ensure code adheres to application architecture and best practices.
Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Application Developer in a large enterprise IT environment.
- Proven experience in .NET C# application development with ASP.NET MVC and Windows Forms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, data modeling, and reporting services.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, git version control, and Azure DevOps Boards.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Bonus Points :
- Experience with Agile project methodologies.
- Experience with pension plan financial filings and regulations.
- Experience with Power BI reporting and SQL Server Analysis Services / Integration Services.
- Experience with Angular Typescript, DEV Express Framework, or Microsoft Composite UI Application Block framework.
