Overview :
Our Clients Alternate Solutions Group, is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to work on dynamic projects transitioning from on-premise to Azure Cloud, with a key focus on supporting the Dynamic Currency Converter (DCC) application.
This role involves designing data models optimized for real-time OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) systems, capturing high-volume transactional data critical to banking applications.
You will drive data architecture practices within the Alternate Solutions Group and Simplii Financial line of business, collaborating with technology and business teams to ensure scalable, high-performing data models that support core applications.
You will act as a senior technical consultant, evaluating and refining existing data design patterns and defining scalable, efficient data solutions aligned with enterprise architecture strategies.
Leading data model design, offering innovative solutions for critical business and technology initiatives as well as serving as a primary data modeling resource, translating business requirements into technical data designs, and fostering relationships with both internal and vendor stakeholders.
This role offers a strategic opportunity to shape our Client's OLTP data architecture within high-impact banking applications and take ownership of data models driving the future of digital currency initiatives
Daily Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for OLTP systems that efficiently capture and structure transactional data, supporting DCC application
- Partner closely with stakeholders including business analysts, data architects, database administrators, and data governance teams to align data models with business requirements
- Ensure adherence to data standards, naming conventions, and governance policies; collaborate on data quality rules and data validation processes
- Analyze and optimize query performance, identifying bottlenecks and adjusting data structures or indexes to enhance transaction speed and scalability
- Focus on modeling that prioritizes transaction processing speed and reliability, ensuring ACID compliance to maintain data integrity and supporting high-volume, real-time transaction environments
- Regularly update data models as requirements evolve, integrate new data sources, and maintain comprehensive documentation of data structure changes

Must-Have Qualifications :
- OLTP-based data modeling within banking, finance, or capital markets, with a strong ability to articulate OLTP concepts
- Extensive experience with data modeling tools commonly used in banking / finance such as Erwin, ER Studio, Power Designer
- Hands-on experience with relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2, as well as NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Expertise in SQL for enhancing database processes, prioritizing speed and transactional efficiency
Nice-to-Have Qualifications :
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI for data visualization
