Position Information Position Number S00353 Position Title Program Coordinator Division / Portfolio Continuing Studies and Corporate Training Department / Program C / S Administration Location Vernon Other Flexible Work Options Your Opportunity Under the general direction of the Associate Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing and evaluating existing Continuing Studies programs and courses with the goal of meeting and exceeding revenue targets within the Division, and will also implement new Continuing Studies programs / courses in collaboration with the Program Administrator.
The Program Coordinator designs, develops and evaluates new courses and works with prospective clientele to develop and implement proposals which identify existing courses to meet a client’s requirements.
This position conducts Level 1 market / feasibility analysis for new programs as directed and completes Tier 1 and 2 program reviews.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of Continuing Studies instructors for existing Continuing Studies courses and acts as the first point of contact to address student concerns with respect to Continuing Studies courses.
This position works with the Marketing and Communications Specialist to plan and implement annual promotions for existing certificate programs.
- Functions and Duties 1. Completes phase 1 feasibility assessment for new certificate program concepts (if, and as assigned by, the Associate Director);
- 2. Designs, develops, and plans new open enrollment courses;
- 3. Plans, schedules and implements existing open enrollment courses and programs;
- 4. Liaises with businesses, service providers, government organizations, school districts, senior secondary schools and not-for-profits in the region to answer queries and respond to requests regarding Continuing Studies training;
- 5. Works with community and corporate partners to propose, negotiate and execute service agreements for delivery of existing courses and programs;
- 6. Works collaboratively with other Portfolios, institutions, organizations, and businesses to deliver specific CS programs and contract training to meet the requirements of corporate clients;
- 7. Assists in developing and updating short and medium range plans to support Division programs, courses and operations;
- 8. Prepares an annual plan and budget, according to established policies and procedures, for the approval of the Director relating to designated program portfolio, including new and existing open enrollment courses, existing certificate programs, and other projects related to the portfolio;
9. Monitors revenue and expenditure statements relative to approved budget with the goal of meeting or exceeding targets and maintains statistical data including trends, forecasts and projections.
- 10. Performs regular reviews of programs, projects, and services, including completion of annual Tier 1 and 2 reviews of certificate programs, and specified course clusters as requested by the Associate Director (for action as required in annual Unit and portfolio plans);
- 11. Responsible for recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of Continuing Studies instructors for existing Continuing Studies courses;
- 12. Prepares staffing forms for Continuing Studies instructors in new and existing general interest, part-time vocational and existing certificate program courses;
- 13. Ensures student concerns, complaints and suggestions are addressed in a timely fashion;
- 14. In cooperation with the Marketing and Communications Specialist, develops and supports implementation of promotional plans for new and existing courses as well as existing programs within designated portfolio;
15. Evaluates promotion and recruitment initiatives and adapts strategies for maximum impact and effectiveness.
16. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Diploma in a related area, with particular emphasis on technical writing, project management and instructional design.
2 to 5 years related experience, preferably in a post-secondary education environment utilizing commonly used student information, registration and finance systems.

Typical Hiring Range $82,793 to $91,992.
