Job Description

The candidate will be setting up plates on a Mazak milling machine, touching off tools, running the machines, making sure parts are to a 1 thou tolerance, and changing inserts and tooling.

Primarily working with QT100 plates to make oilfield products (hubs, plates, components for oilfield). Up to 100 parts per run. Additional tasks as needed.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
• Proficiency in CNC, Lathe, Mill, and Machining.
• Experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol or G-code programming.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as vernier, caliper, and micrometer.
• Experience in working with 1 thou tolerance.
• Knowledge of offsets, Mazatrol, conversational programming, and G-code.

Work Environment

The shop is located in SE Calgary and currently employs approximately 70 trades workers, with plans for significant expansion in 2025.

Shifts are available as follows : Days : Monday to Friday, 6 : 30am-3 : 00pm with overtime available after 8 hours in any day regardless of hours worked that week.

Nights : Monday to Thursday, 2 : 30pm-1 : 00am with overtime available after 10 hours in any day regardless of hours worked that week and a $3 premium for afternoons.

The position will start on days for approximately 2 weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, Alberta.
