About the Role
We are looking for a full-time, permanent Site Superintendent to oversee the direct supervision of field forces and manage the scheduling of project work.
The Superintendent will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of all employees, visitors, and trade partners on the worksite.
Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the job site.
- Coordinate and review subcontracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure project alignment.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain project schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Manage daily and short-term project schedules, including subcontractor and specialty schedules.
- Supervise and organize workers, ensuring they are qualified and available for assigned tasks.
- Monitor labor, materials, and equipment to maintain productivity and control costs.
- Communicate effectively with trades to ensure project standards for performance, quality, and safety are met.
- Conduct regular subcontractor meetings to align on progress and expectations.
- Build strong, productive relationships with all project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in ICI and / or residential construction.
- Construction-related degree or diploma is an asset.
- Relevant training in WHMIS, Basics of Supervision, and Working at Heights.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Proficiency in software such as Word, Excel, MS Project, and / or Primavera; experience with Jonas software is an asset.
- Ability to coordinate multiple project scopes, manage schedules, and lead effective site meetings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships in a team environment.
