Reporting to the Director, Health Safety the HSE Advisor will assist the HSE team by visiting GIP project sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Develop Health and safety stats and trending analysis for local and regional sites.
- Update safety metrics and administer the Safety Incident Tracking database weekly.
- Perform data entry to ensure quality on incident tracking systems, monitors and set for approval, and creates reports.
- Standardize and develop PowerPoint presentations.
- Provide support and administrative assistance to the health and safety team.
- Communicate information to employees regarding health and safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare detailed statistical trend analysis and develop reports and presentations including the preparation of graphs and charts.
- Communicate on safety bulletin boards and develop other means of communication.
- Attend, facilitate, and participate in weekly safety talks, monthly meetings, and audits.
- File electronically on a daily basis keeping up with all trackers to ensure the correct information is available to all members of the team.
- Processing and finalizing reports to be completed in a timely matter.
- Manage Safety Sync training Matrix.
- Assist in safety audits, COR compliance.
Position Requirements :
- Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in health and safety, or equivalent education and experience.
- 1-3 years experience in safety / environmental-related experience
- Construction experience would be an asset.
- Comprehensive / working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and industry safety standards.
- Valid Driver’s License
