Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant :
- Fully responsible for compilation and review engagements
- Work on research assignments, including those involving highly theoretical
- Completing, supervising, and reviewing engagements, including, compilations, reviews, and related tax filings
- Identifying and resolving engagement issues
- Ensure deadlines and related time budgets are met
- Developing and maintaining positive and productive work relationships with clients and co-workers
- Ability to complete and document file work, with opportunity to supervise and review work of junior staff in the future

Job Requirements :
The successful candidate will have :
- Minimum of 4+ years’ experience at public accounting firm
- CPA designation or nearing completion
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to work and learn
- Strong work ethic, organizational analytical and time management skills
- Must be very proficient in the preparation of working paper files for compilation engagements, review engagements, along with experience in completing corporate and personal tax returns
- Strong working knowledge of Caseware, Caseview, taxprep, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Ability to work independently on all types of engagements compilations, and review engagements
- Thorough understanding of ASPE, and Canadian Tax to be able to complete the more complex areas of an engagement
- Possess strong file management skills and organization
- Multitasking and can easily change priorities
- Ability to complete and document file work and to supervise and review the work of junior staff
