Adecco has partnered with a prominent Engineering Consulting firm to hire a Senior Building Science Engineer to join their team in Toronto and contribute to a variety of innovative projects.

This role requires a professional with over a decade of relevant experience and a deep understanding of building science principles, including building envelope design and analysis.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on new construction and restoration projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the design, analysis, and execution of building science engineering projects across different phases of construction and restoration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and project managers, to integrate building science principles into design processes for both residential and commercial projects.
  • Conduct on-site visual inspections, performance testing, and investigations of building envelope components, and produce detailed technical reports.
  • Provide senior-level review of technical documents and project specifications prepared by junior engineers and technologists.
  • Manage field inspections and reporting for building envelope construction projects.
  • Stay current with advancements in building science, sustainability, and building code standards.
  • Prepare engineering proposals and maintain clear communication with clients.
  • Offer mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Building Science, Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience in building science projects.
  • Professional Engineer (.) license in the Province of Ontario (required)
  • Proficient in the Ontario Building Code and construction legislation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Exceptional oral and written English communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in managing changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Bilingual skills in French and English are advantageous.
  • Certification in thermography (level 1, 2, or 3) is a plus.

Compensation Base Salary + Benefits + additional compensation perks depending on experience.
