About You
You are a Geophysicist with an interest in all things seismicity. You are passionate about passive seismic data. You have proven ability to develop relationships with clients and customers, responding promptly and appropriately.
You have the ability to manage time effectively and work with minimum supervision.
The Team
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced geophysicist with skills in processing and interpreting seismological data.
Reporting to the Manager, Geophysical Data Analytics, the Geophysical Service Advisor will play a key role in processing passive seismic data, evaluating the data and results, and effectively owning the relationship and communication to customers.
While the product deliverables are technical in nature a primary focus will be on the ability to collaborate, listen and communicate effectively with the customer and internal stakeholders to build customer trust.
The Role
Develop long term relationships with clients by managing and interpreting their requirements; speaking with clients to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs
Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively.
Generate technical reports and presentations for clients.
Consolidate diverse seismic monitoring solutions into easily interpretable packages.
Provide contextualization for seismic data as applies to specific industry verticals (i.e. oil and gas, mining, critical infrastructure, new energies, etc)
Manage processing projects using the full suite of Nanometrics deliverables from end to end.
Present processing results and lead technical discussions with clients.
Be able to deploy, parameterize, tune and optimize the performance of Nanometrics processing tools.
Build, tune and optimize 3D velocity models for seismicity monitoring and microseismic processing purposes using client supplied inputs with standard Nanometrics methodologies and displays to demonstrate optimal characteristics.
Processing of seismic events using internal Analyst toolkits, to gain a working insight into the tools, workflows and challenges inherent in complex seismicity monitoring projects and datasets.
Process and interpret large geophysical datasets from various passive seismic monitoring applications.
Assist implementation and integration of new geophysical data processing techniques into client project workflows.
Provide continuous feedback on Nanometrics data analysis tools and processes to drive bug fixes, design changes and usability improvements.
Conducts all business activities in accordance with Nanometrics HSE policies and company legal compliance requirements.
What You Bring
BSc in Geophysics, Seismology, Physics or Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience as a professional geoscientist in the oil & gas, mining or related industry
Must have the technical ability to explain product functions and have excellent communication and negotiation skills
Understanding of markets and trends, competitive landscape, industry product offerings and customer challenges
Technical sales, or business development experience
Proficiency in math and signal processing
Understanding of and experience with the principles and techniques for earthquake analysis
Assets
Prior experience working with seismic data products either as a service provider or customer
Prior experience with real-time local or regional seismic network data acquisition, management and analysis
