Course description :

This course focuses on designing toward whoel life cycle zero carbon emissions. Students will examine contemporary passive buildign enclosure systems and review appropriate system and component selection, environmental relevance, performance, construction sequence, and coordination with related active building systems.

Estimated course enrolment : 85

Class schedule : Friday 9 : 00-11 : 00 with some consultation in a course that meets Monday 9 : 00-18 : 00 and Thursday 14 : 00-18 : 00

Sessional dates of appointment : January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025

Salary : $52.26 (25 hours)

Minimum qualifications : M.Arch degree or other professional degree in Architecture with demonstrated competence in building science preferred.

Description of duties : Preparation and delivery of course materials; managing digital teaching materials; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours;

consultation and coordination with the Comprehensive Building Project Studio, ARC2014.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14 : 12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Please note : Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
