JOB SYNOPSIS :
As a janitor you play a crucial role in maintaining a clean & safe environment for guests and staff. Your day starts once facilities shut down for the day and continues after guests and other staff have left the hill.
Your work ensures that the facilities are clean and ready to go for guests the next morning.
This role has you working past regular staffing hours, so having your own 4X4 vehicle will be necessary.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES :
Cleaning of the entire day lodge nightly and ensure other buildings and lodges are cleaned based on the weekly schedule.
Other areas include Skier Services, IGS building, Hummingbird lodge, Mountain Ops, and Glory Lodge.
- Follow checklist of nightly tasks that includes vacuuming, sweeping, garbage & recycling, washing floors, cleaning washrooms, spot cleaning windows, re-stocking Kleenex dispensers / toilet paper / paper-towel / hand sanitizer stations, washing tables, etc.
- Ensuring to complete tasks as safe as possible while guests or other staff are in the lodge. Ie not putting up tables till all guests have left the facilities or blocking off the area to ensure guests stay away from any unsafe conditions.
- Implementation of all risk management procedures as per Whitewater Ski Resort.
- Safe and complete lock-up of lodges, set alarm if building has one.
- Radio check with night groomers.
- Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations, planning, and development.
- Promote Whitewater’s safety culture by reviewing and amending where necessary but not limited to : Department Manuals, Employee Handbook.
- Work to achieve department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assist in achieving organizational goals.
- Embrace, promote and follow Whitewater’s mission statement and values.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION :
- Mature, reliable, and dependable.
- 1-2 years’ experience.
- Reliable vehicle, preferably 4x4.
- Ability to work evening shifts, until 10-11pm.
SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Must be organized and self-motivated.
- Must be able to work alone and independently.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
