The Position
Elementary Inclusive Education Teacher (part-time, 0.4FTE) (This position may be connected to other open positions at Cascade to create a full time position).
A successful candidate will : Have three or more years of teaching experience. Possess or be in the process of attaining a British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.
Possess or be in the process of attaining a Masters degree or post graduate diploma in Special Education / Inclusive Education (or be willing to begin one of these educational programs).
Be willing to work with a mentor. And must : Be familiar with preparing IEPs Be willing to facilitate school-based team meetings Communicate with teachers, students, parents and administrative team Be prepared to support teachers and EA’s as they support students with a range of learning, social emotional, behavioural and developmental needs Collect data, keep detailed records, and be familiar with technology Be able to organize and implement curricular resources and build relationships with external individuals / groups to establish support and services for students Please send a resume, statement of faith including a description of your relationship with Jesus, references and a philosophy of Christian education describing how your belief in Jesus and Christian worldview impact your planning, instruction, assessment, classroom ethos and professional relationships with other staff, students and parents.
Salary based on part-time hours and the current salary scale at Cascade is between $21,307-$33,990.Posting is ongoing until filled.
