Our client,a well-known Food & Beverage Consumer Goods Company, is looking to hire a seasoned Regulatory Affairs & Product Compliance Lead on a Permanent,Full-Time basis to support their business.
This is a Hybrid role, that will require atminimum 2 days in office for meetings and collaboration. The company office islocated in Vaughan, Ontario .
Reporting tothe Senior Manager, Product Development & Product Management, the RegulatoryAffairs & Product Compliance Lead will be responsible for providingtechnical leadership on regulatory compliance and product issues for allbranded and imported products distributed in Canada, to ensure compliance toRegulatory and Company Standards.
Responsibilities :
- Advise Company on the legal compliancepertaining to our packaging labeling requirements.
- Ensure QA Product Specification accessdatabase is maintained with updated product specification data based on legalrequirements and customer needs.
- Review data on all new product development orreformulations to ensure legal designations.
- Update stakeholders on regulatory changeswithin the industry as they impact current packaging and productspecifications.
- Provide pack copy, review approve & signoff on all packaging changes for regulatory issues & compliance (artwork,printer proofs, and physical samples).
- Maintain customer databases.
- Communicate impact of customer changes toMarketing to ensure product is compliant.
- Participate as a member of the FoodSafety / HACCP Team and be responsible for designating a backup during absence.
- Liaise with sales and CFIA to ensurecompletion of export documentation, as needed.
- Review ingredient list for all products tosupport company initiative for natural ingredients and compliant to Companystandards.
- Participate in sensory panels.
- Secure Kosher & Halal certifications fornew ingredients and products
- Represent Company on Regulatory and TechnicalCouncils, Import Export Canada technical meetings and CFIA, Health Canada orother meetings as needed.
- Participate in the development,implementation and improvement of quality programs related to regulatoryaffairs and product compliance.
- Support S&OP with regulatory standardsfor all third-party ingredients; provide technical support.
- Perform other duties as required.
Experience :
- Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Nutrition, Food Science,or related field; specific education in Microbiology orChemistry and asset.
- 3-5+years Regulatory Compliance experience within the food industry, working withallergens, nutritional tables, and formulations / ingredients.
- Previous experience working with the CFIA.
- Previousexperience working with Halal and Kosher authorities an asset.
- Previous experience developing packaginglabels, working with External Suppliers, Marketing / Sales and the, Supply Chainand customers.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience with SAP, and Microsoft Access anasset

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to workclosely with multiple departments in the company, often on tight timelines.
- Extremely high level of attention to detail andability to maintain compliance records through the use of spreadsheets andother tracking tools.
- Proactiveand able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energeticwork environment.
- Strong communication skills with stakeholders,with a strong sense of urgency.
