Plasman Windsor 3 Manufacturing, is seeking a new member to join our team as :

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - New Model Development

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - New Model Development will engage with estimating, operations, engineering, and purchasing to ensure that new assembly strategies are effective from a cost, throughput, safety, and longevity perspective.

Areas of responsibilities include :

  • Support corporate estimating department by generating New RFQ quotation responses
  • Support lessons learned for new model program included Past Problem History ensuring read across among OEM groups & issues are captured and communicated to design development team.
  • LEAD process of assembly strategy through machine design and build (as required at NA Plants).
  • LEAD in feasibility with cross functional teams internally and external suppliers with detailed follow up activities to closure.
  • Coordinate process of assembly strategy through machine design and build.
  • Prepare RFQ process for outsourcing equipment.
  • Review quotes and award suppliers with support from Purchasing & Assembly plant agreements.
  • Complete manufacturing strategy plans for CAPEX requirements & manage the budget for the purchased equipment.
  • Participate in the commission, sign-off and implement equipment for secondary operations (as required per plant).
  • Support AMEs of assembly ECN reviews and guidance to SOP as required by plant.
  • Support Automation Standards and review periodically with cross-functional team Develop / evaluate local automation supply base to drive competitive equipment pricing.
  • Provide support to program management group with respect to product technical support and equipment build.
  • Participate in facility program activities alongside the manufacturing engineers as required.
  • Identify benchmark conditions on current and competing parts that can be applied to new products in early development.

MINIMUM EDUCATION / OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must possess a recognized Engineering Technical diploma in a related area with preference for candidates with a university degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in Integrated Manufacturing and Design related to both OEM and Manufacturing facility.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must have 7+ years experience within automotive engineering field.
  • Experience with additional 3D modeling software is considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of plastics joining methods such as sonic welding, vibration welding, screw assembly, Bonding & Vision systems.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of automotive exterior plastics.
  • Knowledgeable in integrated manufacturing technology as it relates to the facility.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

Capable of independent travel to our other facilities
