The banquet bartender is responsible for serving all banquet guests’ alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. A knowledge of products, as well as the proper ingredients and glasses used and the ability to handle cash in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties include :
- Serve the specific bar requirements as stated on the function sheet for the event
- Knowledge of the types of drinks and the ingredients as well as the garnishes and the proper glassware to serve the drink in
- Ability to mix drinks as requested with the correct amount of alcohol content in each drink
- Ability to handle cash / credit card sales in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of up-to-date drink prices
- Setup of the bar for the evening equipped with all condiments, napkins, proper glassware, swizzle sticks, corkscrew, knife, ice, etc.
to get through the evening looking professional and organized
- Clean up of the bar and restocking of all products and glassware
- Storage of left over liquor in a secure location
- Clean up of left over mixes and condiments etc. and stored in proper location
- Making sure all bottles / cans are put into recycling bins
- Ensuring any wine product that is needed for next event is organized and white wine is to be chilled
- Identify possible signs of intoxication and use intervention strategies
Job Requirements / Qualifications :
- Previous experience in Banquet and / or Restaurant Supervision in a hotel and / or restaurant
- Serving It Right license is mandatory and Foodsafe is an asset
- Reliable transportation is mandatory (public transit does not run up the mountain past 10pm)
- Needs to be available for minimum 3 shifts a week including one weekend day (Fri-Sun). Open availability would be ideal.
Preference given to those with full time availability.
