The Manager, Account Transfers is responsible for managing the operational efficiency of the Account Transfers Department, ensuring all regulatory requirements, CIRO, and bank policies and procedures are adhered to and communicated to the team.
They are responsible for leading and developing their team with a focus on coaching, employee development, client service and capacity.
The incumbent will manage service levels to meet client needs in a manner consistent with Scotia’s Service Level Agreement as well as participate in the ongoing identification, assessment, and management of risk inherent in the day-to-day operations of the Account Transfers Department.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will :
- Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates your team by fostering an inclusive work environment
- Prioritize departmental activities and organize and assign staff and other resources as required to meet business objectives and attain required results
- Monitor service levels and prepare daily and monthly reporting as required
- Ensure required training and cross training programs are in place, including delegation for results, task assignment and coaching
- Ensure the team is aware of policy, procedural and / or industry changes
- Manage the client account transfer process ensuring transfers are completed accurately and efficiently, and within the requirements of industry standards or better than industry standards wherever possible
- Maintain a high level of client service and foster open lines of communication with both internal and external clients
- Prevent risk exposure via timely, ongoing monitoring and responses for transfer activities
- Ensure pending transfers are followed up and resolved
- Lead, oversee, and act as a subject matter expert in all projects and initiatives that impact account transfers
- Direct change and implement improvements to processes to continuously improve the partner and client experience
- Participate in various Industry Committees and Working Groups as required

- University degree, college diploma or equivalent experience
- Superior organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent understanding of operational processes, market practices and regulatory requirements pertaining to Wealth Management
- Effective oral and written communication and conflict-management skills to support a wide variety of partners and clients
- Customer focused, providing a superior client experience for all clients
- Strong developed multi-tasking skills are essential, exceptional time / priority management, and detail oriented
- Individually motivated and strong relationship building skills
- The ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple initiatives with varying degrees of urgency and differing deadlines and reflect high standards
