This full-time permanent position is 29 hours per week. The start date is January, 2024. Terms and conditions of employement, including muncipal pension, travel allowance, and a full benefit package are governed by the CUPE Local 3234 Collective Agreement.
- Rate of pay is $27.87 per hour.The successful applicant will : Display exceptional interpersonal skills, Work closely with the school;
- parents; and students, Maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times, Work to build trusting, caring relationships with the students which they serve, Serving as a school-based team member, providing general input into a student's programming, Working collaboratively with all staff members, attending and participating in parent;
student; and staff conferences relating to the student, sharing information, planning strategies, and developing interventions, Working with students on a one-to-one basis to carry out prescribed programs, Providing supervision as needed (this may require an altered recess and lunch break), Assisting in studnet monitoring in all programmed areas and helping to provide assistance to students in meeting programming needs (i.
e. community activities, recreation) The employer does expect the successful applicant to enroll in courses to achieve an Education Assistant Certificate.
