Role Summary
Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the Breakfast Server is responsible for providing superior customer service for the hotel's breakfast program and catered meetings and events, including set up, service and clean up.
Note : The successful applicant must be able to meet the 5 : 30am shift start time.
Key Accountabilities
- Acts as an Ambassador for Coast greeting all guests in a friendly and warm manner, using the ten foot rule.
- Ability to work early mornings with a 5 : 30am start time.
- Sets up the hotel's complimentary breakfast on time and ensures the buffet is continually stocked with fresh items and displayed in an appealing manner.
- Ensures the buffet area is continuously kept clean and tidy.
- Ensures tables are cleared and cleaned as soon as they become vacant.
- Sets up outdoor patio area and ensure tables are clean at all times
- Sets up and refreshes the lobby complimentary water and coffee station
- Responsible for the tear down and clean-up of breakfast ensuring the area is clean, tables wiped, floor is swept, garbage removed.
- Ensures the back of house work station is clean and all items are put away following procedures.
- Checks on guest satisfaction and follows up on requests where possible and appropriate.
- Provides service and set up of breakfast for morning meetings in the hotel function spaces.
- Provides customer service through the completion of routine duties and tasks, and by following the close instructions of the Banquet Event Order.
- Responsible for the set-up of function rooms as laid out in the detailed Banquet Event Order.
- Ensures the safety and security of the property, the Ambassadors and guests when completing tasks.
Education and Experience
- Serving it Right certificate is required.
- Hepatitis A vaccination is mandatory.
- Previous banquet experience is an asset.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position, including lifting up to 50lbs (need to be able to move chairs and tables).
- Ability to work early morning shifts starting at 5 : 30am.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
