Project Manager
Based in Toronto, Canada

PUR is recruiting a Project Manager to lead our technical operations in Canada and the USA.
As part of the Projects team, you will report to the North American Regional Manager and will oversee technical aspects of our projects in Canada and the USA.
The successful candidate will be the lead point of reference for technical operations in these countries and key point of contact for our teams and partners on the ground.
Your key responsibilities include :
Project development : Support the design, development and implementation of positive impact projects focused on Nature based Solutions with North American agricultural communities that are evaluated for their carbon, biodiversity, and water performance;
areas of focus will be regenerative agriculture and various agroforestry systems in a diverse set of annual cropping and animal systems.
Measurement and evaluation : Design, develop and implement protocols and frameworks to monitor project outcomes related to soil health, carbon, biodiversity and water aligning with key industry frameworks and accounting methodologies;
train internal staff and local partners on measurement protocols and procedures for infield implementation.
Partnership Management : Support the development of new and existing partnerships with supply chain intermediaries, farmer and commodity organizations, and other key actors that collectively support the execution of projects with PUR.
Industry framework research and training : Research and stay up to date on key industry frameworks applicable to the valuation and reporting of project impacts, with a specific focus on the North America market;
e.g. Value Change Initiative, Ecosystem Service Marketplace Consortium, Science Based Targets for Nature); support the training of internal teams on relevant industry frameworks in a variety of forms (e.
g. in-person, webinars, podcasts).
Budgeting and contracting : Design, develop and manage budgets and contracts related to the technical aspects and execution of field activities.
Team management : Effectively manage technicians, field partners, and staff for the execution of projects in the field.
External representation : Represent PUR within the community of field implementers, identify and execute on new and productive partnerships that contribute to PUR’s field operations.
You have solid project management skills; You demonstrated technical capacity for project development; You are passionate about regenerative agriculture and agroforestry;
You have solid knowledge of ecosystem services and want to share this knowledge with the team : This position is for you!
We are looking for a candidate with :
Minimum 7 years of experience in working with agriculture communities, ecosystem monitoring, and / or community project implementation.
Graduated from an MSc in Environmental Sciences, Soil Science, Plant Sciences, Animal Science, Biology, or similar field.
Experience in experimental design, field monitoring, Measurement, Reporting, and Verification. Knowledge and / or experience with key commodities produced in North America (cereals, oilseeds, beef) and key industry frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in managing multi stakeholder initiatives with communities, partners and clients / funders.
Ability to communicate scientific information to general audiences.
A legal right to work and live in Canada and to frequently travel in North America.
Fluency in English. Spanish and / or French is a strong plus.
