The Role :
We are actively seeking an experienced engineering Managerfor our bridge team in the GTA. The bridge team works collaboratively with our divisional team across Ontario.
This role presents a unique opportunity for a dynamic professional to lead substantial bridge infrastructure detailed design,particularly with the MTO (Ministry of Transportation Ontario) and surrounding municipalities, to spearhead this expansion.
The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills, and attributes :
Extensive experience working with the MTO, either directly or as a consultant.
20+ years' experience as a professional engineer.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
Has an excellent reputation working with MTO & GTA municipal clients.
Experiencewith project management and has worked in andunderstands the consulting engineering environment.
Thorough knowledge of Transportation Structures Engineering including policies, regulations, guidelines, and operational procedures.
Experience in preliminary and detail design work.
Works effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders.
Can be approved in the MTO RAQS system for various specialties within the bridge design categories.
Strong business development skills.
Key Responsibilities :
As the Manager in the GTA, you will work closely with the senior leadership team and will be responsible forproviding direct leadership and day-to-day management to the bridge team.
Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing technical team dedicated to advancing bridge infrastructure solutions.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Support as Technical Lead and provide mentorship, technical guidance and oversight on projects.
Actively leads and supports the team to execute strategic growth and business initiatives.
Operational Management
Oversee the planning and execution of bridge projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and timeline standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Provideguidance, technical input, and oversight in the preparation of proposals, develop full cycle proposal / project work plans.
Client Collaboration :
Act as a primary technical point of contact, providing insights and recommendations to clients based on expertise.
Marketing / Business Development
Collaborate with and oversee Bid / No Bid decisions for municipal clients within the GTA and federal clients for bridge projects.
Developing and maintaining relationships with industry professionals, consultants, and other business leaders.
