As a life and health insurance financial security advisor, you help serve, prospect for, solicit, and develop and maintain business relationships with members and clients.
You help sell life and health insurance products and services through multiple distribution channels based on member / client needs and current strategies and practices.
Your focus areas include individual insurance, group insurance and retirement savings plans, insurance brokerage, segregated funds, and travel and life and health insurance claims settlement.
You promote and sell financial security products and services to individual and business clients. You analyze member / client needs and recommend personalized solutions.
The ability to communicate effectively and thoroughly understand clients’ expressed needs is therefore essential. You balance sales objectives, sound and prudent risk management, profitability and member / client satisfaction.
You develop and maintain business relationships with important clients who have complex, diverse needs. The ability to tailor your approach as needed is therefore essential.
Your complex work and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of business. You advise and assist current and potential members and clients.
You represent Desjardins and enter the organization into important agreements with clients. You also have many opportunities to establish and negotiate product and service terms.
Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. More specifically, you will be required to :
Sell and provide advice on life, health, disability and critical illness insurance products
Assess customer satisfaction and service quality, follow up and make improvements as needed. Establish and maintain good relationships with referral sources.
Help target and analyze high-potential member / client files
Act on business opportunities and present information to partners so that members and clients can reach their financial goals
Monitor the industry to identify business development opportunities and stay on top of new products and trends.

What you bring to the table
Bachelor's degree in a related field
A minimum of four years of relevant experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Representative's certificate in Insurance of persons - Autorité des marchés financiers
Knowledge of French is required
Available for travel in the territory.
Must have a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
Available Monday to Friday including 2 evenings.
