ORGANIZATION : The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV / AIDS Centre with innovative, low barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs.
A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare through the development, ongoing monitoring and dissemination of comprehensive research and treatment programs for HIV and related diseases.
ROLE : As a Business Analyst at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV / AIDS, you will play a crucial role in engaging key stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze processes and create data-driven solutions to improve project and operations performance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Requirements Gathering
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand business processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Data Analysis
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
- Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing business processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement process improvement strategies and monitor their impact.
- Project management
- Assist in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet business requirements.
- Documentation
- Create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), Standard Operating Processes (SOP) and functional specifications as required
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of business processes, systems, and workflows.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Health Informatics) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in business
- Professional Business Analysis Certifications (CBAP, PBA) preferred.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) or certifications preferred.
- Experience with Business Process Documentation, SOP development preferably in a healthcare context.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to comprehend and translate clinical and Line of Business (LOB) requirements into business and technology solutions.
- Ability to apply critical thinking in the analysis of operational problems and recommendation of innovative solutions.
- Customer focused with ability to facilitate and encourage cooperation between diverse operational groups, cross functional teams and skill sets.
- Highly developed communication skills, verbal and written, with the proven ability to resolve conflict effectively, negotiate desired outcomes, and problem solve.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task without direct supervision. Demonstrated administrative, organizational, work planning, and control skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare databases.
