This Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) position offers a unique opportunity for highly motivated, innovative, and inspired engineers to work in a challenging assignment in the advance phase of automotive product development.
The KBE Parametric Surface Feasibility Engineer will be responsible for the creation of parametric KBE templates, the rapid development of Class A feasibility proposals, and creation of linked production-feasible inputs for vehicle-level associative parametrically designed components.
This position is responsible for developing feasible product designs that meet styling intent, working daily with Styling & Studio Engineering, while using the latest in parametric design engineering tools.
The goal is to achieve styling requirements while assuring engineering feasibility and meeting quality standards.
The KBE engineer will develop and apply associative parametric templates in CATIA V and / or NX, to develop and analyze CAD geometry.
Requirements :
REMOTE. No travel to the US.
- years of Automotive Engineering experience in Body Exterior & BIW.
- years of Parametric Surface Modeling
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering (BSME, BSAE, BSEE) from an ABET accredited university.
Candidates must have a passion for automobiles and for the automotive industry.
Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, always in pursuit of the most efficient product and process.
Parametric Design and Class A surface experience in CATIA V, V, or NX.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Vehicle and Occupant Packaging methods and requirements.
Previous Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) experience highly desirable
Vehicle assembly process knowledge and system and component tooling and process experience
Knowledgeable in use of Team Center.
Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
