Senior Estimator

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our client in Calgary , AB .

Our client is a midsized construction firm based in Calgary, and places a strong emphasis on design, safety, and craftsmanship in its decision-making process.

They are committed to constructing superior spaces with meticulous attention and care. The primary objective is to deliver construction projects that seamlessly blend aesthetics and functionality through well-engineered solutions, ensuring utmost customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and cost estimates for wood-frame multi-family apartment buildings with parkades.
• Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare detailed material and labor cost estimates using historical data, industry standards, and current market conditions.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors for accurate project costing, and review subcontractor bids and proposals.
• Participate in value engineering workshops to optimize costs without compromising quality, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction pricing trends and market conditions.
• Prepare comprehensive bid packages and proposals for client review.

Requirements :

• 5 years of experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in wood-frame multi-family apartment buildings.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, materials, and techniques.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift).
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
