DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a talented and versatile Electrical Engineer to work as part of a dynamic and rapidly expanding company to develop the next generation of ultrasound tools for use in the Oil & Gas industry and beyond.
The successful applicant will help design and develop electronics for scanning / imaging equipment that work in high-temperature (150 C) and high-pressure (15k PSI) (HPHT) environments.
Your primary focus will be on circuit design and PCB layout, handling projects from start to finish. This includes design, ordering components, kitting, board bring-up, debugging, and modifying / fixing boards.
Our Team
You will join a medium sized team of electrical engineers working on DarkVision’s next industry disrupting product, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of our current downhole inspection tool.
In addition to designing robust complex circuit boards for our ultrasound devices, the team collaborates with our mechanical engineering team to overcome physical constraints and design challenges, with our manufacturing team on board bring-up issues, and with our software engineering team on firmware.
What You Will Do
- Schematic capture and PCB layout for high-speed digital, analog, and power supply electronics
- Maintain clear documentation on design and test development using source control system
- Interface with external material suppliers, contract manufacturers, and product distributors
- Hands-on product prototyping
- Test, debug, and modify circuit boards
- Complete work assignments in a timely and efficient manner with a strong emphasis on technical accuracy
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechatronics engineering
- Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout for standard FR4 and flex PCB
- Experience with designing PCBs with at least 8 layers
- Experience with analog, digital, and power electronics design
- Familiar with high-speed interfaces such as USB, DDRx, and PCIe
- Comfortable with board re-work
What Will Put You Ahead
- Intermediate to senior level - 5 or more years of industry experience
- Experience in component level debugging and troubleshooting
- Experience with version control system
- Experience in software debugging
- Expertise in FPGA and C programming
- Able to work well both in teams and independently
General Salary Range
For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 to $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
