The District of West Vancouver is seeking a replacement temporary full-time Arts & Culture Program Coordinator to join the Parks, Culture, & Community Services Division.
This position will be responsible for the development and planning of arts and cultural programs and initiatives, and supporting the administration, production and maintenance of public art throughout the District.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating community arts and culture programs;
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating casual staff, instructors and contractors;
- Preparing promotional material and promoting interest and participation in arts and culture programs;
- Support the public art program, coordinating annual maintenance, documentation of inventory, organizing unveilings and special events pertaining to installations, and other related duties;
- Grant writing and partnership coordination;
- Working collaboratively and as part of an engaged team to support and promote district wide cultural services programs and events; and,
- Perform other related duties as required.
- The preferred candidate will possess : strong leadership, budgetary, organizational, communication and customer service skills;
- innovative, proactive, reliable, and responsible; a minimum of 5 years experience in arts & culture programming and some knowledge of public art;
- knowledge of arts and culture sector needs, trends, interests and resources of and for the community; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia; working knowledge of JD Edwards and Activenet software will be considered an asset.
University graduation in Fine Arts, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The successful candidate must hold a valid BC Driver’s Licence and will be required to supply an acceptable Police Information Check and a copy of their credentials.

Hours of Work :
37.5 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)
Rate of Pay :
$32.87 per hour (2022 rates) plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually.
