POSITION OVERVIEW
The Cloud Infrastructure Integration Expert acts as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for cloud services with a focus on Microsoft Azure and employee effectiveness infrastructure (M365) technologies.
The incumbent is responsible for the operation and evolution of all Kruger business units’ cloud and industry 4.0 advanced on-premises infrastructures tied to projects such as Digital Robot (RPA) and Digital Twin (AI).
In addition, this position contributes to various infrastructure architectural solution designs alongside the wider solution architect team, supporting the validation of the operational impacts of design recommendations.
Finally, the Cloud Infrastructure Integration Expert acts as an internal coach and mentor for all issues related to the Azure and M365 platforms.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Cloud Infrastructure Integration Expert reports directly to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for the Microsoft Azure and M365 highly available infrastructure, day-to-day operations, and evolution.
- Manages, maintains, and configures the Azure and M365 infrastructure implementation through regular upgrades and updates.
- Manages and maintains the high availability (HA) physical infrastructure.
- Manages, maintains, and configures the Azure and M365 backup infrastructure.
- Manages Azure servers Operating System lifecycle with the appropriate patches and security patches to follow security and operational standards.
- Create / review Infrastructure as Code to meet Kruger security requirements and best practices to be deployed via CI / CD pipelines.
- Assesses and optimizes the Azure and M365 infrastructure to formulate recommendations for cost / performance (VM optimization, reserved instances, etc.).
- Ensures that all Azure and M365 services are fully operational, optimized and follow implementation and operational standards.
- Manages, designs, and configures the Azure and M365 infrastructure to meet business objectives for all business units and sites.
- Support the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Services, by proactively organizing and leading the discussion with the Microsoft and UIPath account teams to take advantage of all the available training, sales support, and other offerings.
- Manages Microsoft performance to ensure compliance with Company requirements and contract.
- Assists in responding to security issues and incidents as a subject matter expert.
- Produces and maintains the IT documentation, network diagrams, server storage, dataflow diagram, and processes / procedures.
- Manages and responds to escalated Kruger business inquiries.
- Research products and new technologies to increase efficiency of business and operations.
- Acts as the escalation point for IT Systems SME and Service Desk agent for issues related to cloud services.
- Acts as senior technical lead for various architecture improvement projects, tied or not to industry 4.0, to increase reliability, efficiency, and capabilities of the Azure and M365 infrastructure.
- Leads the design definition, presentation, and follow-ups to the Solution & Security review table.
- Coordinates external specialists and partners to implement complex project and operations deliverables.
- Maintains Azure and M365 inventory and related documentation.
- Establishes direct contact with the IT teams to maintain the Azure and M365 integration in the Kruger IT Ecosystem.
- Manages and solves requests and incidents sent through the Service Desk ticket management solution.
- Performs assigned tasks related to the Kruger’s IT Core infrastructure.
- Supports the IT System Administration manager to plan and take part in the on-call rotational schedule and potential afterhours support.
- Replaces the IT System Administration Manager during vacation periods.
QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- Azure Fundamentals certification.
- M365 Fundamentals certification.
- Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Azure and M365 administration and security.
- Good knowledge of the main cloud providers (AWS, Google, and IBM).
- Certified VMware Professional (VMware Pox-DCV) certification is recommended.
- Formal TCP / IP Networking training is recommended.
- IT related certifications and / or Project Management and / or ITIL certification are an asset.
EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering and security.
- 5-7 years of experience in a systems administrator role with virtualization and networking duties.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies an asset.
- Knowledge of robotic process automation (RPA) an asset.
- Experience with VMware, vSphere, vRealize Operations Management Suite an asset.
- Experience with on-premises and Cloud Backup solutions.
- General server hardware knowledge and experience with datacenter administration in a critical environment.
- Experience with operations support in a disaster recovery environment.
- Experience with PowerShell.
- Experience with anti-malware solutions, ideally MS Defender.
- Experience delivering formally managed projects an asset.
- Experience with various paper and tissue mill systems and their infrastructure an asset.
