Our portfolio includes the extensive GO Rail Expansion-On Corridor Project, the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations, Rail, and Systems Project, and the transformative Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line, all reinforcing FCC Construcción’s strong presence in the Canadian market.We are also excited to announce the Cross Fraser Partnership for the Fraser River Tunnel Project, a significant initiative that will enhance transportation throughout the Greater Vancouver Region.Join us at FCC Canada to be part of these groundbreaking projects and advance your career in a dynamic and innovative environment.Project OpportunityThe Cross Fraser Partnership team that will collaborate with the Province through the development phase is comprised of Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., and Pomerleau BC Inc.Main ResponsibilitiesHelp oversee and manage the application, review, and approval process for required environmental permits.Identify and help resolve information deficiencies that may be impediments to the permitting process.Support senior staff and liaise with the project team and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.Coordinate with the Indigenous Relations team to align permitting requirements and schedule with the engagement needs and schedule.Coordinate with design and construction teams to align the permits and approvals with the project schedule.Support communication, collaboration, and record-keeping with identified Indigenous communities and stakeholders, including local communities, environmental groups, and government agencies.Maintain a detailed database of permits required, permit conditions and ensure ongoing compliance through monitoring and reporting.Review environmental requirements and project approval conditions so that the project adheres to applicable environmental laws and standards.Coordinate with design and construction teams so that mitigation measures are considered during progressive design and development of construction means and methods.Research global innovations in construction industry related to construction materials and mitigating effects on local communitiesPrepare, review, and submit documentation for permitting, including reports, effects evaluations, and environmental management plansHelp prepare presentation materials, including information packages, to support meetings or open housesHelp manage and audit third-party environmental monitoring servicesIdentify and track potential risks related to environmental approvals and recommend mitigation strategies.Education and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in environmental assessment and permitting and / or environmental monitoring in BC and in freshwater environments.Job RequirementsExperience with the permitting requirements of federal and B.C. environmental agencies.Previous work experience with environmental assessmentsStrong, concise technical writer with experience preparing environmental management plans.Experience with coordination and tracking communications with Indigenous community representatives and government regulatory agencies (e.g., through use of stakeholder management software)Proficiency in project management tools and ability to meet strict deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Work EnvironmentFCC Canada Ltd. is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive culture which promotes gender equity and the recruitment of all under-represented groups in all levels of its workforce.
