As an Environmental Advisor working in the Operational Support team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the project teams in ensuring environmental and contractual compliance of our projects. Supporting large-scale building, civil and infrastructure projects – ranging from $ million to upwards of $1 billion – you will have the opportunity provide guidance, support and assistance to ensure legislative compliance.

What You Will Do

  • Navigate the regulatory maze by securing environmental permits and authorizations, collaborating with our regulatory authorities
  • Craft and implement environmental plans thinking; Environmental Protection, Erosion Control and Waste Management all with a dash of sustainability.
  • Provide expertise and strategic advice in areas relating to water quality, sensitive habitats, or contaminated soil to our Project Teams.
  • Masterfully coordinate our field teams in deploying environmental corrective actions with precision.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in all areas relating to the environment, not just internally, but with our external clients and trade partners as well.
  • Strategically support our Indigenous participation plans, helping to weave their knowledge into our projects.
  • You take pride in verifying and documenting the work of our internal and external teams, walking the sites, and ensuring our environmental standards and green codes are followed.
  • Managing our environmental KPIs is your forte – consistently reviewing for non-conformities, spills and best practices, sounding the alarm if the eco-path veers off.

This role could be for you if you have

  • An educational background in an environmental discipline (biology, environmental science, etc.)
  • Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) in BC or eligible to become a QEP within 6 months
  • 3+ years of work experience in a similar or related role within the construction industry
  • Hands on experience with sampling, erosion, sediment control, etc.
  • Previous exposure to assessing sampling data for project compliance
  • LEED or sustainable building certifications would be an asset

    The expected salary range for this opportunity is $70,000 - $95,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
