Job description :

A consulting engineering firm specializing in structural engineering, with over thirty years of experience. Thanks to the expertise and know-how of their teams, their reputation is well established. They combine the technical competence of large companies with the flexibility and human approach of an independent firm. We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer for our Laval office.

The Structural Engineer will design steel, reinforced concrete, and wood structures in compliance with codes and regulations, in collaboration with the team. They will produce detailed plans and specifications, as well as reports and technical opinions after inspections and field surveys.

Responsibilities :

Design structures of various sizes and budget.
Analyze and adapt steel, concrete, and wood frameworks for commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial projects.
Ensure plans comply with project requirements and building codes.
Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications.
Coordinate ongoing work with project stakeholders.
Participate in site meetings.
Conduct surveys of existing installations.
Write technical reports for expert assessments.
Participate in construction supervision.

Skills and qualifications :

Must be a member of the OIQ

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or building engineering, with a focus on structures

Master's degree in structural engineering (asset)

Experience in the consulting engineering field in Quebec will be considered an asset

Knowledge of ETABS, SAP, and SAFE software

Possession of a driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel (asset)

EXPERIENCE IN QUEBEC REQUIRED
