If you are passionate about making a difference, join us.Job OverviewThe Manager, Major Gifts is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects (individuals, corporations, and foundations) at the $10,000+ level. This includes the development of customized strategies, proposals, and plans to cultivate the interest and involvement of donors and prospects capable of making gifts at this level. The incumbent will directly manage a portfolio of prospects and donors and provide guidance and support to the team in order to achieve organization-wide and departmental goals.What You’ll Be DoingQualify donors through individual meetings.Create individual strategies for each qualified donor based on best practices and research.Execute the donor strategy, including but not limited to engagement activities, cultivation, and solicitation.Develop meaningful stewardship strategies for current donors, including their re-entry into the donor cycle.Work with leadership and program staff to secure project information for creating donor proposals and reporting to donors on how their giving made a difference.Facilitate all donor and prospect solicitation materials and correspondence as required by donor strategies.Collaborate with the Director, Philanthropy on ongoing monitoring and reporting of targets and goals.Participate in all team activities, such as sharing knowledge and best practises, collaborating on donor approaches, etc.Ensure that appropriate donor recognition, acknowledgement, and stewardship programs are in place.Ensure all activity is tracked in CRM (Raiser’s Edge)QualificationsA minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in fundraising programs with a focus on major gifts through individual donations, sponsorships and corporate relations.Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising and ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycleKnowledge of significant developments and trends in major gift fundraising and philanthropyClear understanding of CRA and taxation regulations that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates, gifts of stock, etc.University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.A seasoned relationship builder with a demonstrated track record soliciting and closing gifts $10,000+ and demonstrated ability to drive and achieve financial targetsExceptional interpersonal and presentation skillsA superior listener with excellent verbal communication and exceptional writing abilities to translate often complex and technical information into compelling language geared toward major and planned giving donorsStrong team player with the ability to work proactively and manage competing priorities within tight deadlines and with minimal supervisionA strategic thinker and problem solver with sound organizational and analytical skillsDetail oriented with strong technical and analytical skills to maintain accurate donor records and information within the CRM (working knowledge of Raiser's Edge is an asset)Parkinson Canada will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment and selection and / or assessment process to applicants with disabilities.
