Reporting to the Manager of Extended Studies, the Extended Studies Program Coordinator oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of adult and youth programming, both in-person and online. The Program Coordinator coordinates directly with instructors regarding scheduling, contracts, materials and resources required on a term-by-term basis. They are primarily responsible for purchasing materials following budgetary guidelines. The Program Coordinator provides both onsite and online support as well as general office support to the programs offered through Extended Studies, ensuring that they are well-managed and programs reflect the standards and values of NSCAD University.The Program Coordinator is directly responsible for managing the registration process for all courses through the Destiny-One learning management system as well as database management of course, instructor and student information.ResponsibilitiesReviews instructor and course proposal applications and makes recommendations to the ES Manager.Researches new curriculum opportunities and makes recommendations to Manager for program augmentation.Coordinates directly with instructors regarding scheduling, issuing contracts, materials and resources required on a term-by-term basis with final approval from manager.Ensure all courses are run within budgetary guidelines.Hires, trains and supervises student assistants as required.Primary student contact for Extended Studies, supporting student registration through the Destiny One content management system as well as Bright Space access for online courses.Directly responsible for managing the registration process and communication with student accounts as necessary.Ensures classrooms are prepared and equipment in good working order for instructors. Communicates requests with facilities as required.Generates class lists for instructors, security and the service centre. Prepare course outlines and handouts as necessary. Update and maintain the School of Extended Studies webpage as required.Manage and maintain inventory for the School of Extended studies. Sources and tracks materials for courses.QualificationsUniversity undergraduate Fine Art degree and 1-3 years of arts administration experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be required. Demonstrated familiarity with Extended Studies programming is an asset. Have demonstrated leadership and excellent interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
