Job description

About the Role

You will be part of our global team of commercial lawyers and professionals. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders from all areas in our business. You will prepare, review and negotiate contracts and provide legal advice to our business units.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, reviewing and negotiating a variety of legal contracts and commercial agreements to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Providing legal advice on a variety of areas for, corporate, commercial, data security, IP, licensing and litigation
  • Managing risk through training and coaching of business partners and implementation of efficient contract governance processes
  • Communicating legal issues to business clients in an effective and succinct manner
  • Integrating legal and business knowledge to effectively develop practical business solutions
  • Keeping up-to-date with developments and changes in laws and regulations to ensure we stay compliant

Requirements

  • Have a Juris Doctorate and be licensed to practice law in the United States or Canada
  • 3+ years post-call experience
  • Demonstrate experience in either an in-house legal department or law firm environment
  • Show excellent judgment and analytical skills and the ability to assess risk and provide practical advice
  • Have experience in a wide range of general corporate or commercial legal areas
  • Show a keen interest in learning and adapting to change and new technologies
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
