About the role

The Buyer is responsible for the planning, control, and coordination of buying activities across multiple product categories to achieve increasingly profitable growth. They play a key supporting role in overall strategy, merchandising, and planning.

Responsibilities

• Forecast and achieve the budgeted sales, gross margin, and turnover rate in multiple product categories by developing, implementing, and following up to ensure guidelines and checkpoints are established. Employ corrective measures when necessary to support all buying activities in alignment with the overall tea strategy;
• Ensure assortment effectiveness to meet financial objectives through a proper line review process and appropriate buying strategies;
• Enhance the hard goods and supplies strategy by identifying new item development opportunities;
• Develop, monitor, and ensure optimal stock levels to maximize sales and profitability while reducing markdowns;
• Ensure optimal pricing aligned with hard goods and supplies pricing to achieve financial thresholds and product margin targets.
• Contribute to the effectiveness of the marketing program by providing input on which products to promote;
• Assess market trends and future opportunities regarding products, cost, and quality issues, completing regular competitive analyses;
• Provide insights related to product, visual merchandising, layout, signage, and display;
• Manage the front end of the product creation cycle through product ideation support, brief creation, and coordination of product design / development;
• Collaborate with the Creative Marketing team to create innovative packaging;
• Organize and plan hard goods and supplies launches with all departments;
• Serve as the point of contact for internal communication documents, such as Action Sheets, PKs, promo requests, and price changes related to hard goods and supplies;
• Provide recommendations for retail prices and markdowns;
• Communicate with all departments regarding new products;
• Conduct any other duties, tasks, as required.
