Position Description

As a Analytics Developer you are a core member of a Advanced Analytics Team reporting to the CEO. You will operate in a crossfunctional team at the cutting edge of data science in the water industry. You will be involved in innovation through developing models and frameworks for a product that provides tangible value to the industry by changing the way water treatment plants are operated.

What you bring to the team

The following background may qualify candidates for the listed competencies but we are open to individuals who can demonstrate these skills through alternative experiences :

Educational Background : A degree in Chemical Engineering Environmental Engineering Data Science or a related technical field with a strong focus on process systems and industrial analytics. PhDs are preferred but very open to only undergrad degrees for candidates who have demonstrable competencies to do the role well.

Professional Experience : 3 years of handson experience in industrial process modeling optimization and data analytics particularly in water and wastewater treatment or similar industries.

Technical Expertise : Proven experience working with Python for data analysis machine learning and deterministic modeling along with familiarity with streaming data analytics and visualization tools.

Domain Knowledge : Practical understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes associated equipment and experience working with engineering documentation such as PFDs and P&IDs.

Role Competencies

• Process Modeling and Optimization : Expertise in modeling optimization forecasting and fault diagnosis for chemical and biological treatment processes.
• Deterministic and DataDriven Modeling : Strong understanding of both deterministic models and datadriven statistical and machine learning models for analytics including applications with streaming data.
• Industrial Data Analysis : Proficiency in data cleaning analysis and modeling using physicochemical principles and data science techniques.
• Water and Wastewater Treatment Expertise : Deep knowledge of treatment processes (e.g. activated sludge MBR RO UF NF) and related equipment (e.g. pumps ERDs heat exchangers).
• Engineering Document Analysis : Skilled in creating and interpreting Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) control philosophies and technical specifications.
• Python Development : Demonstrated ability in Python for scripting modeling and running advanced analytics.
• ValueDriven Analytics Delivery : Ability to understand the value analytics add to industrial facilities and balance accuracy and complexity to deliver models with optimum scope in record time frames.

Compensation

Pani offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a comprehensive health & dental benefits and paid time off. The annualized base salary range for this Victoriabased role is CAD $65000 to $85000. The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individuals skill set level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location experience and expertise.
