Project Engineer – Trail, BC
Job Title : Project Engineer
Location : Trail, BC
Salary Range : $120,000 - $160,000
We are seeking a Project Engineer to act as an infrastructure consultant and owner’s representative for utility and municipal clients . The successful candidate will be responsible for working on an electric substation project involving the installation of two new 20MVA transformers .
This role requires expertise in electrical engineering, project management, and stakeholder coordination to ensure project success from design to execution .
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in electric substations
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
- Experience using AutoCAD, MS Office, Primavera, and SharePoint
- Experience working as an owner’s representative
- Familiarity with multi-disciplinary engineering and construction concepts
- Previous experience supporting engineering closeout and commissioning processes
- Act as the technical point of contact for engineering projects, ensuring adherence to client standards, scope, and timelines
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, and engineering consultants
- Oversee project controls , including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and risk analysis
- Provide technical oversight and engineering support during construction
- Ensure smooth project closeout by leading engineering documentation and compliance reviews
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design criteria, materials, and emerging technologies in the sector
