We promote an inclusive, holistic and student-centric approach to learning and academic success and act as a professional resource in the delivery of evidence-based student enrolment, wellness, development and academic support programs and services. Reporting to the Manager, Student Success Advising, the Student Success Advisor will promote student success and retention, working intentionally, guided by measurable learning outcomes, to assist students with making informed decisions in the co-creation of meaningful educational plans.
Key Responsibilities

- Support students in transition (into university and within programs), transfer students, and students “at risk,” by taking a positive and strengths-based approach. Assist students in developing problem-solving and decision-making skills, and aid in their understanding of their responsibility for their progress.
- Assist students in the development of educational plans that support program choice of study, career exploration, strengths and goal identification. Enhance students’ awareness of available educational and career resources, and make appropriate and purposeful referrals.
- Facilitate the development, implementation and assessment of programs and services that promote student learning, development and retention.
- Monitor student caseload; analyze data, ensure proactive follow up, propose process improvement opportunities; submit reports and ensure accurate data collection.
- Establish rapport with students, groups, colleagues, and others that acknowledge differences in lived experiences.
