Position Description
Hospital for Sick Children, Division of Hematology-Oncology
Effective September 1, 2024, the Department of Paediatrics, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave. Toronto, ON is recruiting a full-time permanent faculty position in the Bone Marrow Transplant / Cellular Therapy Section in the Division of Hematology-Oncology.
As one of the most active programs in North America, we are FACT accredited with a 17-bed dedicated unit providing care to children from across Ontario and the Atlantic provinces for transplantation and cell therapies for treatment of malignancies, immunodeficiencies, marrow failure, metabolic disorders, and hemoglobinopathies. The section presently includes 6 members with a strong base of gene and cell therapy trials and translational and basic research. The program is part of the vibrant research community at SickKids and the University of Toronto and has a strong BMT / CT fellowship program. Applicants with expertise in cellular therapy and program development are particularly encouraged to apply. Substantial philanthropic support is dedicated to support this program.
All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($255,000-$325,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.
