Accounts assistant Jobs in Chatham-Kent, ON

We are looking for a diligent Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. As part of our finance team, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be primarily tasked with managing the company's invoices and payments. You will also be responsible for maintaining communication with vendors and ensuring that all documents are correctly filed for auditing purposes. This role provides a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities :

• Manage the entry of invoices into the appropriate folders.
• Ensure the timely processing of payments.
• Maintain open communication with vendors, addressing any questions about payments.
• Collaboratively work with the team to secure approvals.
• Ensure all backup documents are properly saved in the correct folders for auditing purposes.
• Use QuickBooks Online (QBO) effectively to manage accounts payable tasks.
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records.
• Handle data entry tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department.
• Aid in the reconciliation of accounts payable.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and tasks
• Demonstrated ability in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Check Runs and Coding Invoices
• Proficient in Data Entry, with a focus on accuracy and speed
• Experience in Invoice Processing, ensuring timely and correct payments
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, and QuickBooks software for financial management
• Familiarity with Quickbooks Online, and ability to adapt to other online accounting platforms
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with vendors and internal departments as necessary.
