Our client is a residential property management company. They are looking for a Director, Client Accounting will be responsible for leading a Client Accounting department consisting of approximately 50 associates, with four (4) direct reports.

About the Opportunity

Leadership

Lead a Client Accounting team of ~50 associates to ensure timely and accurate preparation of client financial statements and budgets, and readiness for annual audits

Build and maintain a culture of service excellence, with a focus on responsiveness and accuracy

Supports team members to reach their potential and achieve growth

Prepare and drive the team to achieve targets set out in the Client Accounting KPIs

Client Accounting

Build an efficient and scalable team structure that leverages technology

Be a financial knowledge and thought leader providing : i) training to condo managers and directors as appropriate and ii) sound financial analysis and advice to clients

Support and drive the client budgeting process in partnership with management teams

Maintain an ongoing awareness of the regulatory environment impacting Client Accounting

Maintain performance against targets for financial statement completion, budgeting, audits, resident and associate NPS

Service Excellence

Be the face of Client Accounting for our clients and to our associates

Attend “Blue Chip” client board meetings as required

Lead and support the onboarding of new clients

Review monthly client financials and budgets on a rotating basis with priority given to Blue Chip and “watchlist” clients

Management and support of Blue Chip and “watchlist” clients in conjunction with the VP, Client Accounting

Finance transformation

SME (Subject Matter Expert) on all processes and technologies that touch Client Accounting.

Support the VP, Client Accounting in the timely and effective delivery of finance transformation projects, with the aim of streamlining processes through process automation.

Responsible for producing and maintaining accounting policy and procedure manuals, including relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Banking and Treasury

Banking and treasury lead, including setup of bank and investment accounts, and oversight of monthly pre-authorized withdrawals

Acts as the point of contact for all banking and treasury relationships

About You

CPA, CA preferred

Minimum 4-5 years of people leadership experience, with proven team management skills

Strong technical accounting foundation with expertise in operational accounting and internal reporting

Proficiency in Excel and experience handling large data sets

Background in either public accounting (firm) or a mix of industry and firm experience (Senior Manager level with at least 3 years post-designation)

Salary Range

130,000 - $140,000 / year
