This customer-facing role has the crucial responsibility of making our passengers feel safe and secure as they travel from coast to coast.
The Day to Day :
As a Security Guard working with us on our Ferries contract at Swartz Bay, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of both the terminal and onboard vessels, creating a secure environment for passengers.
Acting as a visible deterrent, you will make a difference by engaging with the public to provide assistance and direction, delivering exceptional customer service throughout coast-to-coast travel, performing unlock / lock-up checks and related security procedures, and managing various communication channels, including radio and incident escalations.
Additionally, you will actively identify and report safety hazards, contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of our passengers.
What you bring :
- BC Security License
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable with radio communication
- Ability to write reports on job-related activities
- Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of standing and walking for a duration of 8 hours
Availability :
We offer a range of shifts and availabilities, including days and overnights, and offer full-time, part-time or on-call employment opportunities.
