Legal Aid BC acknowledges the ancestral and traditional lands of all Indigenous peoples throughout British Columbia on which they operate and provide services.
Legal Aid BC is a provincial crown corporation created by the Legal Services Society (LSS) Act to provide legal information, advice, and representation services.
Every year, Legal Aid BC (LABC) helps tens of thousands of British Columbians with serious criminal law cases, family and child protection matters, and immigration issues.
They do so through a range of legal information, advice and representation services, as determined as part of their obligations under the LSS Act, offered at legal aid locations throughout the province.
Their priority is to serve the interests of people with low incomes, but many of their services are available to all British Columbians.
LABC’s mandate is to help people to solve their legal problems, to facilitate access to justice, to establish and administer an effective and efficient system for providing legal aid to people in BC, and provide advice to the Attorney General about legal aid and access to equitable justice for people in BC.
The organization is committed to working with their many partners in the justice system, sharing knowledge, and improving access to justice for the disadvantaged.
LABC has been proudly recognized as one of BC’s Top 100 Employers in 2024, and consists of a team of dedicated staff, committed to making a different in the lives of their clients.

The CEO leads the Executive Management Committee, which includes vice presidents of the four divisions.
