Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for a Financial Analyst. The successful incumbent will engage in Financial Reporting and Analysis.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting.
- Preparation and analysis of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial plans.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Manage and review general ledger accounts, and inventory reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support / mentor the General Accountant, AP, and Payroll staff as required.
- Coordinate and Assist with internal and external Audit requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of business review packages for senior managment and key executives.
- Support the Divisional Controller with ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and projects.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial analysis.
Position Requirements
- University and / or College Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
- CPA Certification or candidate.
- Min 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Inventory experience preferred.
- Financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Budgeting and forecasting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Involvement with budget, forecast, and financial preparations.
- Excellent anaylytical and problem-solving skills.
- Manufacturing background.
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
