Plains is seeking a NGL Scheduler to join our Commercial Scheduling team. This position will report to the Manager, NGL Scheduling and the successful candidate will be responsible for truck, rail and pipe product movement activities on Plains NGL pipeline systems.
This fast-paced department has an on-call requirement for after hours and weekend availability.
Responsibilities
- Daily management and scheduling of volumes from multiple receipt locations and coordination of deliveries with downstream carriers
- Manage and maintain rail, and truck fleets, trace and monitor shipments daily
- Develop and sustain strong customer relationships with shippers, producers, railroads, and other pipeline companies
- Proactively assist traders and provide commercial feedback
- Provide solutions and ideas to maximize profit on existing deals and explore hidden value / options
- Optimize commercial system capacity and efficiency through detailed knowledge of assets, customer requirements, contractual commitments, and market conditions.
- Liaise with third-party counterparties and team members to resolve and eliminate issues impacting schedules, supply, and settlements
- Quantify, analyze, communicate, and escalate (when required) discrepancies between plan, schedule, and actual performance
- Communicate scheduling issues when they occur; escalate as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or accounting
- 2+ years’ related scheduling experience, commercial and / or refinery preferred; rail scheduling experience is considered an asset
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills with advanced Excel skills
- RightAngle ETRM experience considered an asset
- Detail oriented and accurate with very strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Positive and professional attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to demonstrate initiative by undertaking tasks independently
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
