Position Description
We are seeking to hire an exceptional investment professional focusing on the Canadian institutional client base. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding and directing dialogue with institutional clients across PIMCO’s alternatives platform, with a focus on our broader strategy spanning private credit and real estate offerings.
As an account manager, you will focus on engaging with sophisticated investors across their alternative needs, and work in close collaboration with a wide variety of internal teams to drive alternatives sales.
The role requires regular travel and consistent, proactive engagement with current and potential investors across Canada.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Become an expert on PIMCO’s alternatives platform, products and investment strategies.
Drive growth of PIMCO’s private platform, including asset-based and corporate credit strategies across the Canadian Institutional client base.
Effectively source new clients into PIMCO’s alternative investment strategies.
Partner with business leaders in Canada, and across product and investment teams to develop, execute, and accomplish a strategic business strategy.
In partnership with Account Managers and Product Strategists, work with Institutional Investors to assess investment needs and recommend suitable solutions.
Articulate complex ideas clearly and straightforwardly, both verbally and in writing.
Understand key competitors and industry trends and position PIMCO’s alternatives platform effectively.
Embrace and align with PIMCO’s culture, bringing credibility and gravitas to the platform.
Promote PIMCO alternatives through conferences, events, and other branding strategies.

Position Requirements
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in capital raising, investing, advising, or business development focused on private credit and real estate strategies.
Demonstrated ability to drive sales and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Deep knowledge of alternative investment strategies, portfolio management, and the competitive landscape.
Strong technical acumen and understanding of credit capital markets.
Awareness of critical issues in the Canadian Alternatives market impacting institutional investors from investment, service, and regulatory perspectives.
Established relationships across a broad range of clients in Canada.
An appreciation for the institutional sales process and familiarity with the multiple players involved.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, coupled with the ability to communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively build relationships with both internal and external parties in a professional manner.
Outstanding team player capable of credible internal collaboration to leverage the firm’s resources and deliver PIMCO solutions that meet clients’ needs.
Exceptional relationship management abilities and extensive experience in public speaking and presentations.
Uncompromising standards of personal and professional integrity, with low ego needs.
Ability to work effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies.

Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree, CFA, or CAIA a plus but not required.
