Position Overview

The Regional Account Manager will work in the field to promote the benefits of PreventionGenetics’ portfolio of Clinical DNA testing services.

The Regional Account Manager will be responsible for growing business with existing accounts as well as developing new accounts within their territory.

This position is field-based and will support the Ontario markets.

A. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Plans and prioritizes sales activities and client contacts to achieve business goals.

2. Analyzes client needs and creates sales tools that foster engagement.

3. Builds and maintains relationships with present clients.

4. Builds rapport with potential clients.

5. Generates revenue by developing market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, closing sales; and recommending new products, services, applications and sales strategies.

6. Expands sales in new and existing accounts by introducing new services and developing new applications.

7. Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, turn-around time schedules, and merchandising techniques.

8. Updates and tracks client information and correspondence within territory in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

9. Maintains current industry and sales knowledge and acts upon market dynamics and trends to address client needs.

10. Participates in company sponsored trade shows, national genetic conferences and meetings.

11. Provides input to the Clinical Laboratory staff and / or company management regarding test development, client services, operations, and marketing.

C. Qualifications

1. Education. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, biology, chemistry, or a related field.

2. Experience. Previous sales experience is preferred.

D. Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Prospecting skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software.
  • Professional presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of genetic testing or clinical genetics.
  • Working knowledge of CRM applications is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport & build relationships.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self starter with sustaining drive and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel.

F. Physical, Mental and Visual Proficiencies

  • Visual acuity is required to view the computer screen and patient records.
  • The physical ability to stand and / or sit for up to 50 minutes during each hour is necessary in order to perform computer tasks.
  • Hearing acuity is required to communicate with clients.
  • Ability to maneuver through out the building is necessary to access computers, printers, offices, laboratories, and personnel.

G. Working Conditions

  • The Regional Account Manager will work within standard office areas.
  • The position requires some local and overnight travel (1-4 days) and also weekend and / or evening work.
