PwC's High Net Worth (HNW) practice is a core part of PwC Private, supporting High New Worth Individuals and some of Canada's most iconic families with a range of tax and business advisory needs such as tax and estate planning, tax audit, and tax compliance.
The HNW Team acts as trusted advisors,helping our clients free up time that can be spent on growing their wealth and minimizing their total tax and compliance burden.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a PwC Private Tax Manager, y ou'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues , deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency .
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Participate in managing complex compliance engagements including, for example, Canadian income tax returns, Canadian trust returns and Canadian deemed resident trust returns
- Work on a variety of complex consulting engagements
- Ability to identify opportunities with clients and propose solutions that meet the client's needs
- Lead the development of proposals and proposal teams
- Establish a broad network of relationships, including the opportunity to work with industry associations
- Support the development and coaching of tax professionals and other junior tax staff members
- Participate in, and contribute to, market and business activities, including opportunities for contributing to publications and journals
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
- Prior experience in a public accounting firm or law firm an asset
- The Master of Taxation (Mtax) or equivalent, or completion of Levels I, II and III of the CPA In-depth Tax Course would be an asset
- Qualified Canadian CPA or equivalent reciprocal / recognized designation
- Trust and Estate Practitioner designation (TEP) would be an asset
- Good understanding of Canadian tax rules and issues facing high net worth clients with corporations and trusts
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, clients and staff. Strong research, analytical, organization, and communication skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and a proactive attitude
- Demonstrated business development skills and enthusiasm about contributing to the growth of the HNW practice
- Ability to manage, develop, retain and mentor junior tax professionals
- The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and / or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
- A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside and / or coaching diverse people and perspectives
