Operations Manager

Responsibilities :

  • Develop work schedules. Assign installers to jobs, ensure they are adequately supplied with information, materials, tools and construction equipment;
  • Maintain records and daily time sheets for each crew member and send approved hours to Payroll Department;
  • Ensure safe erection, modifying and dismantling of mast climbing work platforms;
  • Inspects completed processing systems to determine conformance to specifications;
  • Establish and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities or equipment and assigned personnel;
  • Ensure that operations are conducted in a way that assures the security of all employees in the shop, the yard as well as on jobsites;

Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated reports in collaboration with the head office. Monitor and control corrective actions.

  • Be involved in the elaboration of the prevention plan;
  • Optimize plan, coordinate equipment, material supplies and manpower;
  • Raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings;
  • Coordinate timely pickups for dismantles and deliveries for erections;

Perform all necessary documentation, ie. : sign-offs, extra work authorizations, safety plans, delivery and pickup tickets, etc.

Provide on-going technical support to customers;

Conduct field verifications as required. Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine the extent of repair needed.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations;

Provide leadership to his working team in order to fulfill the task assigned on a timely, quality, performance and cost manner.

Maintain communications with Project Coordinator and Operations Manager of job status and current assigned responsibilities.

  • Assist in loading, unloading and storage of equipment and supplies;
  • Perform mechanical diagnostics and small motos repairs as required;
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems;
  • Ensure to maintain a clean jobsite free of tripping hazards and unnecessary obstacles;
  • Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements;
  • Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment;

Perform all other related work as required.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma, college or University preferred;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction works, involving scaffolding. ,masonry or construction coordination, with a minimum of 5 years at a supervisory level;
  • Knowledge of access systems (swing stages, mast climbers);
  • Proficient knowledge of Health & Safety;
  • Experience at managing site safety and quality control;
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, planning and time management skills;
  • Good leadership and communication skills. Ability to give instructions in an efficient and effective way to his workforce;
  • Confident and able to work under pressure. Ability to stick to tight deadlines and keep project milestones on track;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;

Mechanical skills

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints;
  • Forklift certified;
  • Able to work at height;

Valid driver’s license.
