Product Designer Toronto, ON Contract
The Select Group is seeking a Product Designer to join a top 5 banking client based in the Toronto area. This is an exciting opportunity to support a large transformational digital initiative which will significantly affect our customer’s digital experiences.
You will help provide consultative support to Agile teams, produce designs leveraging the design system and create new and innovative digital experiences for our customers.
This Product Designer will be working on Supplier Intake and Digital Control Fraud Prevention (DCFP) and supporting the Business Banking unit.

Working Hours : Mon-Fri : 9am-5pm, 37.5 hours weekly
Hybrid Work Requirements : 1 day on-site, 4 days remote per week
Interview Process : 2 rounds
Qualifications :
- Prior banking experience.
- Proficient with Figma and experience working with design systems and components.
- Degree, diploma or certification in UX Design, Human-Centered Design, Graphic Design, or other relevant education.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience designing interactive digital products.
- In-depth knowledge of user experience design best practices, information architecture, and design thinking.
- Firm understanding of responsive web and mobile app design.
- Experience working across the project life cycle, within cross-functional teams, and using lean / agile design practices.
- Collaborative, team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- High proficiency with ability to assess user needs, journey mapping and story boarding.
- Familiar with capabilities of front- end technologies ( HTML, CSS, Java Script ).
- Financial industry experience would be an asset.
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with web analytics tools is a plus.
- Some experience and / or interest in mentoring and coaching junior designers.
Responsibilities :
- Create holistic design solutions for online banking experiences across multiple channels and platforms.
- Create detailed design specifications, including customer journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Serve as a customer advocate, championing their needs and ensuring the integration of customer insights into the experiences you deliver.
- Work side by side with product owners, fellow product and content designers, research, design system team and developers and other relevant agile stakeholders.
- Partner with researchers to understand user needs through data analysis, competitive benchmarking, interviews, surveys, interpretation of analytics, and usability testing.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions in the context of agile delivery.
- Actively participate on a collaborative design team, including mentoring junior designers by reviewing and critiquing their work, coaching them on best design practices, and leading by example.
- Communicate evidence-based design rationale in agile team demos and executive reviews.
- Ensuring consistent use of existing design patterns, style guides, and accessibility guidelines; and contributing to their continuous improvement.
